Troop 60184

Five Napoleon students in Girl Scout Troop 60184 earned their Silver Awards this year.

The Silver Award is the highest award Cadette Girl Scouts can earn.

Emma Lennox, a 7th grade student at NMS, teamed up with Hailee Shaw and Annalisa Courtright, now freshmen at NHS, to restore the fairy garden at local Girl Scout Camp O'The Hills in Brooklyn. The trio cleared the space of poison ivy and invasive species, built multiple fairy gardens that are able to stand up to the weather and won't harm the wildlife, built a fence from the fallen tree branches in the woods, and built benches the girls installed in the garden.

Helena Courtright and Jasmine James, both 8th grade students at NMS, worked together to improve the hiking trails at Girl Scout Camp O'The Hills in Brooklyn. They painted and installed trail signs for multiple hiking trails, as well as clearing an entire new trail through the woods, chopping down trees, shrubs, and clearing the trail of invasive species. They built benches and installed them for a shady place for Girl Scouts to rest along their hike. The pair also compiled a binder for troop leaders to help their troops use the trails at the camp to help their scouts earn the trail adventure badges for all levels of Girl Scouts.
