New NHS Cell Phone Policy Flyer

New Cell Phone Procedures:

The goal of this procedure/policy is to keep our students’ attention and focus on learning while in class at NHS.

  • Students may have their cell phones on campus and may use them in hallways, commons, etc.

  • Student cell phones may not be seen, heard, or viewed at any time they are in a classroom.  This also applies to airpods/earbuds/headphones (must be out and put away before walking into the classroom) and portable gaming devices.

  • This rule applies in classrooms during the school day (7:40-2:36pm)

  • Student smart watches may be worn, but will be subject to the same procedure if being used to communicate or game during learning time.  Smart watches can not be worn during tests/assessments and are strictly prohibited during SAT/PSAT and other required assessments.

  • A student that does not comply with this policy will be asked to turn off their device and put it in an envelope.  The student will seal it in the envelope and may pick it up from the MAIN OFFICE at the end of that school day.

*Teachers may allow student cellphones in the classroom for specific learning activities.
