Kit Young Bulldogs vs. Napoleon Pirates Buckets for Bennett Basketball Game was a great success!!! This event raised $1000 for the Area 19 Special Olympics and $1000 for the Rainbow Connection.
On Saturday, April 22nd, Justin and Alyssa Hritzak, both Napoleon alumni, were present with their kids Elliot and Macklin to honor and remember their son and brother, Bennett King, or “King B” as he was nicknamed. Bennett was born in 2017 and faced many medical challenges in his short five years of life. Bennett passed away on September 15, 2022 after his five month bone marrow transplant journey. Bennett will always be remembered for his love of basketball, and nothing brought him joy quite like watching people shoot hoops. The Hritzak family chose the Rainbow Connection as one of the recipients for this fundraising effort. This organization was able to grant Bennett’s wish to go to an NBA game last January, and it is a memory that the Hritzak family will cherish forever. It is the family’s hope that Bennett’s bright light can continue to shine and that giving to the Rainbow Connection will allow other wish families to make their own priceless memories.
