Students and staff from Ackerson High School recently attended the “JUST BUILD IT!” Construction Career Expo at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds. This exciting event gave students a unique opportunity to explore careers in the commercial construction industry through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and interactive exhibits.
Throughout the day, students engaged with skilled trade apprenticeship programs, watched industry professionals like architects and engineers in action, and connected with representatives from construction firms, educational institutions, and industry organizations.
The Expo was a valuable experience that sparked interest in high-demand construction careers and allowed students to gain firsthand insight into the industry.

Your attendance tomorrow (and every day!) helps our schools receive essential funding that supports teachers, classrooms, activities, and resources for every Pirate!

Dear Pirate Families,
GOOD NEWS, although the legislature has not yet passed the Michigan state budget for the upcoming fiscal year impacting funding for the "Michigan School Meals" program, which provided universal free breakfast and lunch to students last year, Napoleon Community Schools has been approved to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) as part of the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. This means ALL students enrolled at Napoleon Community Schools can receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at NO CHARGE to families.
We are committed to ensuring that every student continues to have uninterrupted access to nutritious meals as well as maintaining our other essential programs. As a friendly reminder, we request that all families complete the Educational Benefits Form if they have not already done so. While meals are currently being offered at no cost, this confidential form is essential for securing critical funding that supports our classrooms, student services, and staffing. Thank you for your cooperation!
You can complete the form online in just a few minutes through the Meal Magic portal at: https://napoleon.familyportal.cloud/ and then click “Apply for Benefits” (no login required).
Sincerely,
Andrea Haskell

---Class of 2026

"This past weekend we headed into Regionals with lots of hard work and preparation. The down fall is you cannot watch video or scope out your competition before hand like other sports because we show in our district meets at the same time just in many different zones across the state.
We faced challenging patterns in small arenas, horses with their own ideas, and great competition! We, like true pirates, battled until the very end.
In the end we made Top 3! Every four years our region takes the top three. This is our year! We’re going to STATES!! First time in Napoleon history. And I’m checking to see how long for any district in Jackson County… a long while for sure!
Either way these lady pirates are making Napoleon history! We are here for the “ride” (pun intended…lol).
State Finals is a costly adventure- the school does not fund any of our show or expenses. We fundraise and rider’s families pay out of pocket. We are looking for additional sponsors to help these PIRATES go to State Finals.
State Meet is held in Midland, Wednesday October 8-Sunday October 12. Horses, rider & family will be staying in Midland this whole time. If you or a business would like to help financially, you may donate to a rider, family, Napoleon Equestrian team at Flagstar bank, or the team PayPal account:
https://www.paypal.me/NapoleonEquestrian
All help is greatly appreciated and welcomed to make this adventure possible for the whole team! Please feel free to message me or the other coaches for additional information."

Upon completion of the investigation, to ensure transparency regarding student safety, I would like to provide a brief overview of an incident that occurred yesterday, September 18th, 2025, on campus. After middle school hours, a concern was reported to the school office. Local authorities were on-site and quickly assessed the situation, determining that there was no threat to student safety and that a lockdown was unnecessary.
We appreciate the Napoleon Police Department, school staff, and everyone involved for their swift and professional response. As always, we are committed to a safe environment for all students/ staff at Napoleon Community Schools.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our campus safe.
Sincerely,
Patrick Dillon
Superintendent
