For the past two weeks, Pirates in all levels of Spanish have been showcasing their artistic skills by creating pinturas en corteza de amate. These pinturas, or paintings, are done in Mexico and show daily life in small communities. The indigenous groups of Mexico have been painting these on the bark, or corteza, of the amate tree for hundreds of years.
Napoleon's Spanish students used donated paper bags to create their own pinturas and show off their artistic abilities! ¡Bien hecho piratas! And gracias por las donaciones (And thanks for the donations!)
Take a look below at a few of the students artwork!
