Any NCS family to complete a NEW Free or Reduced Lunch Application either

ONLINE (preferred) at or via paper copy

on or BEFORE JANUARY 26th, 2021 will be entered into a drawing to be held on February 4th, 2021 for a $100 Amazon gift card. Paper copies may be requested from NCS Food Service Director, Mrs. Andrea Haskell at or from any school office. All entries MUST be received by end of school day on January 26, 2021 no exceptions. However, families may fill out a Free or Reduced Application at any time to apply for free/reduced meals or to update student information.

While an approved Free & Reduced Lunch Application is not necessary for students to receive free meals for the remainder of the 20/21 school year (ALL SCHOOL BREAKFAST & LUNCH MEALS ARE BEING PROVIDED FREE TO EVERY NCS STUDENT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 20/21 SCHOOL YEAR) it is still critically important for you to complete your Free or Reduced Lunch Application in order for our schools to receive important state and federal funding. Only one application needs to be completed for each household.

It is important for families to complete an application every year. Completing the Lunch Application, whether or not your student qualifies for free or reduced meals allows us to receive important funding information for things like:

  • Additional classroom teachers to ensure reduced class sizes
  • Additional academic support tools and programs
  • Additional funding for instructional supplies and materials
  • Additional technology devices
  • Professional development for teachers

While individual student data is confidential and may not be used for local education purposes, it is used at the State level for a variety of purposes, including:

  • The issuance of P-EBT benefits if they again become available to families this year
  • The allotment of State funds and discretionary grants for certain programs and public schools
  • A mechanism for students who qualify to waive the cost Advanced Placement tests
  • Documentation to qualify for scholarships, grants, and other financial aid
  • Use by the agency for various accountability measures
  • Other allowable uses at the State level

In order to gather this important information Napoleon Community Schools Food Service Department will hold a drawing for a $100 AMAZON gift card for any NCS family that chooses to participate by completing a NEW Free and Reduced Application Form before January 26th, 2021.

Every family who completes a new before the deadline will be entered into the drawing regardless of the status of the application. Whether your family qualifies for free/reduced meals does not impact your chances of winning the gift card drawing. ALL information provided is confidential at all times.

BONUS: Students who are approved this year (2020/2021 school year) will continue receiving benefits under the approval for the first 30 days of the new school year (2021/2022). This means there will be no overlap while a new application is processed at the start of the 21/22 school year. Families must reapply benefits every school year.
