2018 Napoleon Spring Collage Concert

For this year’s spring concert, we will be trying something new- the first ever Napoleon Collage Concert! We will be showcasing the talents of all 200+ students in our music program in this event, featuring all of the bands and choirs, the newly re-formed Jazz Band, and several student soloists and small ensembles who have auditioned to perform. This year’s concert selections will feature music from Moana, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, and more!
Our 2018 Collage Concert will be held on SUNDAY, May 20th in the High School Gym. In this unique event, all ensembles will be set up on the gym floor at the same time. We will move from performance to performance instantly with no downtime for transitions- as soon as one group is done, someone else will be ready to perform in another part of the gym. This will allow all of the students to see each other’s performances and support each other, and allow us to combine ensembles in unique ways- such as a massive combined performance with the Middle School and High School Choirs accompanied by the High School Band!
Here is the schedule for Sunday, May 20th at the Napoleon High School Gym:
2:30– All students arrive at the High School Cafeteria to store belongings, get instruments ready
2:45- Students walk to gym, take places for concert
3:00- Concert begins. Dress code- 6th Grade- Dressy clothes, no sneakers or jeans. All others- all black with spring color accent- tie, undershirt, scarf, etc. NO SKIN SHOWING FROM WAIST DOWN.
4:45 (approximately)– concert ends. There will be a 10 minute intermission halfway through.
Since the concert will be a longer time commitment than in years past, please make arrangements to ensure your child will be able to attend this graded event. The groups will not be performing in order- the groups will trade off songs, so it is important the students attend the entire event. Although the concert will be longer than we’ve had before, I’m very excited for the new opportunities it presents us!
Finally, with so many groups set up at once, we are in need of many extra music stands for this performance. If you have a music stand at home, please attach a piece of tape with your name to it, and send it with your child to school the week of the concert.
