What: NMS STEM Club

When: 9 weeks (Tues/Thurs) in the Fall

& 9 weeks in the late Winter/Spring (Tues/Thurs)

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

S.T.E.M. Club was started last year to provide after school opportunities for students that are an extension of the science curriculum offered during the school day.

Student engage in hands on activities that provide real world applications to science principles taught within the science curriculum.

Stem club is currently open to all 6th through 8th grade students. STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators.

A Peek Into 6th Grade Robotics

Students work in groups to complete various building projects using Engino inventory kits that make up to 90 different models.

Students follow directions from instructions on the computer and work together to complete complex functioning models.

Some of the projects that students can complete include Front loader, Radar Truck, Crane, bulldozer, and Off Roader with Trailer and much more.

Students also complete a research project about robots and how they are used in our everyday lives.

Finding uses for Industrial robots, non-industrial robots, fixed robots and First generation robots and how they are important in our lives.
