What’s Happening? A fundraiser in support of Meals on Wheels!

Napoleon Middle School Student Council along with Ms. Hollow’s Leadership Class is working with Ella Sharp Museum on a fundraiser to support the local Senior Citizen “Meals on Wheels” program. The museum will host a fundraiser dinner & auction on March 7, 2019 to raise funds for the program that provides nutritional and social support to senior citizens that may be in need due to financial or physical limitations. Ms. Hollow’s programs at Napoleon Middle School will paint and decorate the bowls that will be used and then sold at the auction. Great job Ms. Hollow & Great Job Pirates!

Soup’s On for Seniors Fundraiser Information

Meals on Wheels which is one of the largest programs in Jackson County Michigan which helps older adults live independently. The Friends of Jackson Seniors coordinates an event called Soup’s On for Seniors to raise awareness about Meals and Wheels and as a way to raise funds to support this valuable service.

The hand painted bowls are a souvenir which sponsors and attendees, who purchase tickets to the fundraiser, get to take home with them.  The bowls are a way to say thank you for supporting Meals on Wheels in our local community. The past few years the Friends of Jackson Seniors have used the funds to help purchase a van for delivery of the meals. In 2018 over 264,000 meals were delivered to 1,109 home bound clients.

Soup’s On for Seniors will be held at Ella Sharp Museum on March 7, 2019. Attendees get to sample soup from local restaurants, enjoy entertainment and a silent auction.
