ANNOUNCEMENT FROM NCS FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR UPDATED May 29th, 2020
Through the Farmers to Families Food Box program Napoleon Community Schools is working to provide for local families. NCS has partnered with the USDA, local farmers & our distributor to provide fresh fruit, vegetables & protein boxes to the community during the COVID-19 national emergency. Boxes will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. There are no age requirements.
WHEN: Every Thursday in June starting at 9:00 am (while supplies last)
June 4th, June 11th, June 21st, and June 28th
WHERE: Distribution will be at the high school kitchen entrance, just past the performing arts entrance.
Again, there are no age requirements on the Farmers to Families Food Box Program & boxes will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
THIS PROGRAM IS NOT IN PLACE OF OUR COMMUNITY FOOD PROGRAM. This program is in addition to the breakfast/ lunch free food program listed below.
Napoleon Community Schools Community Food Program will be offering FREE meals to ALL children ages 0 to 18 years old during the COVID-19 school closures.
Until further notice in an effort to provide further nutrition to local families NCS Food Program will provide BREAKFAST AND LUNCHES for 6 days per week. Meals will be provided on the following days
Monday ~ Wednesday ~ Friday
On all 3 days ~ 2 lunches per child will be provided to cover meals for down times. We ask that families please continue to follow the social distancing guidelines at all times for the safety of the staff and community.
Our Food Service and Transportation Departments are considered essential employees and will continue to provide emergency lunches to ALL children ages 0 to 18 years old during the COVID-19 school closures.
We will continue to provide meals in a drive-thru format at the front drive of Ezra Eby Elementary School from 11:00 am – 11:45 am daily as well as bus delivery to local neighborhood areas listed below (similar to 2019 Summer Reading Program transportation stops).

Watch for one of your friendly Pirate staff members and a NCS bus to deliver meals in an effort to help during this time. Lunches will be off loaded and distributed just outside of the bus door. Please be respectful and considerate of each other and transportation staff by remaining a safe distance (minimum 6 ft) away from each other at all times. Thank you

**ALL meals must be taken offsite to be consumed. There will be no areas available to eat at distribution sites.
Meals will be distributed in individual bags.
Meals are free to all children they do not have to be NCS students. It is not required that children be present to pick up the food.
