Below is the informational letter from the Brooklyn-Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce about this great event held in our area for High School students.

Parents and Students:

The Brooklyn-Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce Education Committee is holding their 6th Annual
Career and College Expo which will be hosted at Columbia Central High School on Tuesday,
October 15 from 9:30 am-11:00 am.

There will be four high schools in attendance (Addison, Columbia Central, Napoleon, and
Onsted) which will bring in over a total of 800 students who will have an opportunity to
participate in two separate sessions (career driven portion & college driven portion).

We plan to have over 50 college representatives in attendance as well as an elite group of
Jackson County and Lenawee County business representatives to lay out an array of options for
students and their post-graduation plans.

Students can prepare for this event by doing the following:

-Dress to impress
-Bring a resume if they’re interested in applying for a scholarship, summer job, internship, etc.

Some businesses will have information regarding any scholarships they offer as well as giving
students the opportunity to apply on-the-spot.
Please let me know if you have any questions. We are thrilled with the success we’ve seen in
the past and look forward to the growth we will see as this event continues to inspire local
juniors and seniors!

Sincerely,

Stephanie A. Updike
